Post:
Blood Donor Recruiters (2
Positions).
Duty Station: Northern Zone Blood Transfusion
Centre (Moshi).
Reports to: Head of Donation.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Campaigning and Mobilization of community groups for blood donation.
- Keeping records of donors participating in program such as schools, religious groups and community.
- Arranging specific date of blood collection for blood-donor group and confirms appointment in writing and Keeping records of organizations participating in program. Arranging specific date of blood collection for blood-donor group and confirming appointment in writing.
- Records information for mobile blood-collection unit, such as space available, staffing required, and number of donors/blood units anticipated.
- Develops list of prospective donor groups by using organizational, professional, and industrial listings and directories
- Contacts prospective donor groups to explain requirements and benefits of participation in blood donor program
- Consults for blood bank records to answer questions, monitor activity, or resolve problems of blood donor groups
- (repetition) Recruitment and retention of regular non remunerated blood donors.
- Distributes promotional material and uses audio-visual aids to motivate groups to participate in blood-donor program
- Prepares reports of blood-donor program and recruitment activities
- Identifying donors with rare – type blood from blood – bank records, and telephone donors to solicit and arrange blood donation.

Duties will involve constant travel.

To perform any
other duties that may be assigned from time to time by Head of Donation.
Required Qualifications
·
Holder of a Degree in Social Work or its
equivalent from a recognized Institution.
·
Possession of appropriate interpersonal skills
is a must.
·
Three years
working experience in the field.
·
Must be a computer literate.
·
Age below 45.
Post:
Phlebotomists (2 Position).
Duty Station: Zone Blood Transfusion Centre (Mwanza/Mtwara).
Reports to: Head of Donation.
Duties and Responsibilities:-
- Performs phlebotomy at the centre and at remote sites drawing blood from donors by using Standard operating Procedure.
- Assist donor with questionnaires, performs physical check on donors like blood pressure, temperature, hemoglobin check and others.
- Assembles equipment, such as tourniquet, needles, and disposable containers for needles, blood collection devices, gauze, cotton, and alcohol on work tray, according to requirements for specified donation site.
- Verifies or records identity of donor and converses with donor to allay fear of procedure.
- (Phlebotomy part)Works as team member providing excellent customer care service (greeting donor), as well as providing for safety and comfort of donors.
- Duties will involve constant travel with the mobile blood donation team.
- Performs any other duties assigned by head of Donation.
Required
Qualifications

Holder Diploma in Nursing or its equivalent
from a recognized institution.
·
Must
be registered with Tanzania Nurses and Midwives Council, with work experience
of at least three years.
·
Must have a valid license to practice.
·

Laboratory Technologist/Technician (3
Positions).
Duty Station: Zone Blood Transfusion Centre
(Moshi/Mwanza)
Reports to: Head of Laboratory.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs and supervise both routine and specialized tests in the ZBTC Laboratory according to SOP s.
- Performs HIV, HBV, and HCV by Sem automation, automation system and Syphilis (TTIs) testing and blood grouping of blood units collected.
- Processing collected blood into blood component.
- Duties will involve constant travel to transfusion facilities for supportive supervision.
- Performs any other duties assigned by head of laboratory unit. .
Required
Qualifications

Holder of
Advanced Diploma Laboratory Technology, Bachelor Degree in Laboratory Sciences
with additional training in Hematology/Blood Transfusion or Microbiology or
equivalent qualification with relevant experience.

Must have a valid
license to practice.

Three years
working experience in the field.

Must be computer
literate.

Post:
Laboratory Assistant (2 Positions).
Duty Station: Zone Blood Transfusion Centre
(Moshi/Dodoma)
Reports to: Head of Laboratory.
Duties and Responsibilities

Post:
Blood Donor Counselor (1 Position).
Duty Station: Zone Blood Transfusion Centre
(Mbeya)
Reports to: Head of Donation.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- To perform pre- donation counseling to all mobilized/ recruited and work in blood donors and deferrer if necessary according to SOPs
- To perform phlebotomy to blood donors.
- To conduct post donation counseling to all tested blood donors, who have positive results refer them as appropriate.
- To ensure that blood donor is notified of significant laboratory test results in time.
- To provide support to blood donors about test result in the confidentiality manner and follow up.
- Duties will involve constant travel for pre and post donation counseling to remote sites in the zone.
- Performs any other duties assigned by head of Donation
Required
Qualifications

experience.

successful completion of a supervised one-year clinical internship. Specialist
in Blood Banking/Haematology or equivalent advanced training,
