Medics
at a hospital in Kangemi were yesterday shocked as they admitted a
nine year old girl who was in labor and ready to give birth.
Drama
unraveled at the hospital as none could believe that the girl was nine
years old or the fact that she had given birth to a bouncing baby boy.
News of the story spread fast as all wanted to see the rare occurrence.
The
girl who was a pupil at Kihumbuini primary school until she dropped out
narrated the story of how she became pregnant to medics who were
puzzled.
She
said that a barber at Kangemi had lured her to his house one day when
she was going home from school; the barber gave the girl some money to
keep quiet and swore to kill her if she told anyone.
Unfortunately
the girl whose name is unmentioned due to the sensitivity of the matter
started experiencing morning sickness and vomiting all the time. Her
concerned mother took her to hospital where she tested positive for
pregnancy.
Her mother later threw her out of her house as she did not want such shame in her family.
For nine months the girl has been at the hands of good Samaritans and has also spent endless nights at the streets.
Medics at the hospital are calling for human rights officers to help the girl as a baby cannot feed and clothe a baby.
