Mbita MP, Millie Odhiambo, has come out to disclose
how male MPs harass her in Parliament.
Speaking during an interview on K24,
the fiery law-maker claimed that her political opponents, who are mainly from
Jubilee, keep on insulting her for criticizing Uhuru/ Ruto’s leadership.
They call her all manner of names
from a barren woman to a prostitute just to humiliate her. But Millie has put
it clear that she will continue speaking her mind without fear or favour.
However, the fearless Legislator
urges the Speaker to come to the rescue of female MPs who are too shy to share
their problems in public.
Millie says that most female MPs are
suffering in silence and it’s high time the Speaker introduced punitive laws to
punish any male legislator caught harassing a female Member of Parliament.
She claims that some female MPs are
s3xually harassed by their male counterparts but they fear exposing them.
“Early this year, they tried to undress me in
Parliament but no action was taken against them. They went ahead to lie to the public that I
was throwing my panties in Parliament just to confuse Kenyans. We are being treated
like garbage and the speaker must act.” She
