Senegalese born American musician, Akon, is set to
gift Kenya’s President Uhuru Kenyatta a bullet proof car worth Sh 35
million.
According to TMZ magazine, the Konvict Music boss, who is
currently in Kenya for the Airtel Trace Music Stars TV, is set to
gift President Uhuru Kenyatta who he described as a “great friend”.
Last month, Akon ordered a 2014
Mercedes Sprinter and had it fully reinforced in bullet proof armour and some
sophisticated radar system equivalent to the one installed in Obama’s “the Beast”.
Akon has been in Kenya for more than
six times this year, five of which has included a meeting with the Head of
State to hold “lengthy talks” over his lighting project.
He has participated in a number
projects in Kenya including the Kibera, Mathare and Korogocho lighting
projects.
Akon is estimated to be worth about
Sh 8 billion and he is among the richest Afro-American musicians.
