Already, over 40 families in Isiolo
County have reported their children missing over the last one year and fear
that they might have crossed over to Somalia to join Al Shabaab.
Of the 40 missing children, 30 are
secondary school students aged between 18 and 22 and the statistics are just
worrying with authorities now saying the number could be higher because the
figure of those reported missing is only from one County.
Speaking yesterday, Isiolo County
Police Commander, Nelson Okionga, confirmed the statistics and vowed to release
the names of the missing students (suspected Al Shabaab terrorists) this week
because he has already compiled it.
This comes against the backdrop of a
revelation that Al Shabaab terrorists who slaughtered 147 students at Garissa
University disappeared two years ago only to reappear last Thursday to commit
the heinous crime.
The Al Shabaab have changed strategy
and are now recruiting the cream of the society to ensure that they defeat
Kenya by hook or by crook.
