AL SHABAAB will never attack us again, Garissa was the last & turning point for UHURU

Deputy President William Ruto has warned Somali refugees that things will never be the same again after the Al Shabaab attack in Garissa University in which they massacred 147 students in cold blood.

Speaking in a function at St. Polycarp Anglican Church of Kenya, Ruto said the Garissa attack was the last one because President Uhuru Kenyatta and him will not allow another attack similar to that to happen on Kenyan soil.

“It is not going to be business as usual and the country will change after the unfortunate terrorist attack in Garissa by Al Shabaab militants. As a Government, we will do what we have to do to stop a similar attack from happening on Kenyan soil,” said Ruto.

He noted that the attack was the turning point for him and the President to take decisive action, including relocating Dadaab Refugees’ Camp to Somalia, as a way of doing away with Al Shabaab once and for all because the camps had become recruitment and planning grounds for the militants.

“We have been generous enough. Thirty years is a very long time, especially when it is now obvious that the camps are being used for terror activities. We are responsible to the people of Kenya and everyone else comes next,” said Ruto.

He vowed to ensure that all the refugee camps are closed down and Somalis taken back to their country.

“We are not saying anything new. Let everybody go back to their homes. They say East or West, North or South, home is best,” he said.
