Manchester City are keen to test Arsenal’s resolve to keep midfielder,
Jack Wilshere, with a reported £30m bid in the summer.
The 23-year old has three years
remaining in his current deal at Arsenal and the Gunners are keen to tie him
down with a new deal.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger
recently revealed that the England international is not for sale but sources
intimate the Citizens will go ahead and test waters.
Wenger said: "We
are not in a position anymore where we have to sell our best players.
"Everybody can have a really big
impact over the rest of the season, Jack included. That depends on the game,
the fitness, the availability and the need of the team. Everybody is exactly
the same."
City have signed a number of players
from Arsenal in the last five years such as Emanuel Adebayor Kolo Toure, Samir
Nasri and Bacary Sagna.
Wilshere has not featured for
Arsenal's first team since November after picking up ankle injury.
