The Al
Shabaab terror group has today claimed responsibility for the Garissa
University siege where masked gunmen killed over 70 and wounded over 79
students on Thursday.
In an
interview with British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), the Somalia based ragtag,
said they attacked Garissa University because "it's on Muslim land
colonized by non-Muslims"
The official
said their mujaheddins
held Garissa University students hostage and separated Muslims from non-Muslims
and released Muslims before butchering Christians (Kafirs) like dogs.
“We've killed many people; Kenyans will be
shocked when the go inside,” the Al Shabaab official said.
Meanwhile,
Interior Coordination Cabinet Secretary, Joseph Nkaissery, has confirmed that
the gunmen have killed 70 Kenyansas 1920HRS and injured 79 following an early
morning raid.
Nkaissery
also confirmed that police have arrested one gunman who was trying to escape
and killed two of them.
