Chairman, Nderitu Njoka, has claimed he is the one who invited US President
Barack Obama to Kenya and not President Uhuru Kenyatta.
In interview with one of the local
dailies, Njoka ,who is also the head of the Global Men Empowerment
Network said those linking Obama’s visit to State House are
wrong because he was the one who invited Obama in July 2014.
Njoka claims to have written a 5,000
word-letter to the US President on July 11, 2014, in which he also invited
First Lady, Michelle Obama, and their children, Malia and Sasha, to the
country.
“I was actually the first person to
invite him and I am sure he read the letter. I decided to invite him because we
tend to forget great people from Africa who are global leaders,” Njoka said
adding that he wants Uhuru to consult him before he meets Obama in July.
He also said he invited Obama for a
holiday in “Muruguru Village Nyeri County”,
where he will enjoy a dish of traditional delicacies and a rich diet of
arrow roots, mukimo or kienyeji food, a mixture of maize,
beans, njahi, banana, pumpkin and Muratina.
