Somalia based militants, Al Shabaab, got a rude shock after they were
cornered by Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) and killed like insects along the
Kenya-Somalia border.
Over 40 Al Shabaab militants were
dropped by the KDF during a sting operation at the village of Haamey near the Kenya-Somalia
border.
Kenyan soldiers launched the operation
early today to revenge yesterday’s attack in which the militants attacked
Kenyan troops along Garissa-Hulugho Road as they were coming from their Garissa
Barracks and bombed them with a land mine before engaging them in gunfight.
Three soldiers were injured and one
truck completely destroyed.
It is not clear if KDF suffered any
casualties in today’s operation but the bodies of the dead Al Shabaab
terrorists were seen all over Haamey Village, a clear indication that the
Kenyan troops were gaining ground and very soon Al Shabaab would be a thing of
the past.
This comes amid heightened security
within learning institutions after the militants threatened to attack schools
and massacre students the way they did at Garissa University College last
month.
