The Kenya Human Rights Commission and the National Gay and Lesbian Human
Rights Commission (NGLHRC) on Saturday launched the first gay and
lesbian awards.
The event, held at Charter Hall honoured Lesbians, Gays, Bisexuals,
Transsexual, Intersex and Queer (LGBTIQ) individuals for their
contributions to the Kenyan Society.
Politicians, employers and journalists who are committed to advancing
equality and social acceptance for LGBTIQ individuals in Kenya were also
awarded.
