Citizen TV presenter, Julie Gichuru, is among senior Kenyan journalists
who will interview US President, Barrack Obama, when he jets in on July 25th.
Julie Gichuru has been shortlisted
together with KTN's senior reporter, Joe Ageyo, and NTV’s senior manager, Linus
Kaikai.
A source at the US Embassy in Nairobi
said Julie Gichuru, who is known for her programme African
Leadership Dialogues has a lot of experience and she has been
selected as the host of the Global Entrepreneurship Summit in Nairobi.
US President Barrack will come to
Nairobi to attend the Global Summit. He was invited to the summit by His
Excellency President Uhuru Muigai Kenyatta.
The other two women who will have an
audience with Obama is Obama’s grandmother, Mama Sarah Obama, and First Lady,
Mama Margaret Kenyatta.
Obama’s visit to Kenya comes at a
time Kenyans are still grappling with the deaths of 148 students at Garissa
University College. The students were killed by Al Shabaab terrorists two weeks
ago.
