It is a big blow to the people of Luo Nyanza after it emerged that
their son, Barack Obama, who is also the US President, will not be visiting his
father Barack Obama senior’s land in Kogelo, Siaya, on his first visit to Kenya
as a US President in July.
This was revealed by his grandmother,
Mama Sarah Obama, who said his grandson would be coming to Kenya on an official
visit and would not get time to visit Kogelo.
She noted that the Obama family will
meet the US President in Nairobi where they will have their private time with
him.
“My grandson, Obama, is a busy man and
is visiting Kenya on an official State visit and therefore would not get time
to come to Kogelo where his father was born, which is why as a family, we have
organized to meet him in Nairobi,” said Mama Sarah Obama.
The people of Luo Nyanza were hopeful
that their son, cousin and brother, Obama, would finally visit them in July as
President of the United States of America, but not anymore as they will now
just have to watch him via TV like everybody else.
