The father to one of the terrorists who attacked Garissa University
College on Thursday has said his life is in danger.
According to his immediate family
members, Chief Abdullahi Daqare, has gone into hiding after unknown people
started sending him death threats on his cell phone.
His son, Abdirahim Abdullahi, was the
mastermind of the attack in which 147 students were killed and 79 injured last
Thursday.
On Sunday, the rich Chief moved from
Al-Hamdu Lodge in Eastleigh’s 12th Street to an undisclosed location
in South C because of threats to his life.
“He does not want to be seen in
public, at least not on the media. This may expose him to danger,” a close
friend of Daqare said.
“He is a very disturbed man. He is in
great pain, not only because he lost a son, but also the killing of innocent
students,” the man said.
His son was a University of Nairobi
law graduate and he was working at a local bank as a legal officer before he
joined Al Shabaab.
