The war on terror has intensified with another woman being arrested in
Kakamega with a bag full of Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs).
The woman was arrested in Serem Town
following a tip-off from members of the public and she is helping the police
with investigations.
Western Kenya police boss, Moses Ombati,
confirmed the arrest of the woman suspected to be working for Al Shabaab saying
the police will very soon establish her terror network.
“I thank the people of Vihiga for the
tip off on a bag containing explosives in a house belonging to a woman. We are
working on the case and will soon reveal the names of those working with her,”
said Ombati.
At the same time, Ombati asked the
people of Western to be on the lookout for Al Shabaab operatives because they
are right in their midst.
“People should stop viewing terrorism
as a matter reserved for the Northern region or city based. I have observed
people in Western Kenya, and many behave casually. They don’t believe that
terrorism is real,” warned Ombati.
This comes against the backdrop of the Garissa
terror attack in which 147 students were massacred in cold blood by Al Shabaab
terrorists.
