President Uhuru Kenyatta on Tuesday sent personal letters to
all the families of 148 victims who were killed by terrorists in Garissa
University College, last Thursday.
According to State House, the
letters with a message of sympathy and hope, will start being dispatched to the
families on Wednesday morning.
Meanwhile, hundreds of Kenyans on
Tuesday evening gathered at Uhuru Park in Nairobi to mourn the death of
those massacred during the Garissa University College terror attack.
Earlier on Tuesday, University
students held a peaceful demonstration in Nairobi demanding improved security
in their campuses.
“This petition is to the President,
university students cannot be killed the way they are being killed,” one comrade
shouted.
“We are suffering in this country… our
comrades were shot dead,” the student shouted as they observed one minute of
silence for all the 147 students who were killed.
